Alpha & Omega series (books.0.5 to 3) by Patricia Briggs

Review:

Alpha & Omega - Patricia Briggs Cry Wolf - Patricia Briggs Hunting Ground - Patricia Briggs Fair Game - Patricia Briggs

This is set in the same world as there Mercy books, but features a different main couple. I like this series, but not as much as Mercy's books. I think the characters are not as complex as in the other series. Also seems to not be as much humor. Will still continue but am taking a break from this world before starting the new Mercy book.

In a Badger Way (Honey Badger Chronicles book 2) by Shelly Laurenston

Review:

In a Badger Way - Shelly Laurenston

I really love this author. I haven't read a book by her that wasn't good. I love how her books make me laugh. I especially like her characters, each and every one of them are crazy hilarious in their own unique way. There shifter breed greatly influences how their human side acts.

This one features a giant panda bear, Shen, and a honey badger/tiger hybrid, Jenny.

Jenny is a genius, this helps to contribute to her being very socially awkward. She has super anxiety, especially confronted with bears in anyway, but not pandas. She can't control her freakishly large, extremely strong animal form. Her sisters keep her close in order to stop her from destroying the world and try to shelter her from everything acting as a buffer between her and real life. Shen is an extremely patient man. He loves bamboo, has a lot of friends, and is typically levelheaded no matter what situation he finds himself in. He somehow finds himself in the position of being Jenny's protector.

At first I didn't like the idea of the the two of them being a match. I really wanted Jenny to end up with one of the bears that terrified in the begining of the book. I am happy to say that by the middle of the book I was rooting for Shen.

I recommend this book to anyone looking for a light romance that will have them laughing out loud. I do recommend tat you start from the beginning where thus world that the books is set in began, The Magnus Pack series, but starting with the first book in the Pride series works almost as well.

Down to Oath

Review:

Down to Oath - Tyrolin Puxty

I seriously wish I could give half stars. 3 1/2

I liked this, especially the oddball main character, Codi. She lives in a world where everything is cookie cutter, no differences amongst the people, nothing exciting... then there is some excitement in the form of a child in a childless village. Codi learns there is more out there, and she has the power of choice, BIG choice.

I wish this were a bit longer. There was so much that could have been expanded, if done right this could be a great story.

The Pigman

Review:

The Pigman - Paul Zindel

This was okay. I liked how it began with a prank phone call being the starting point of what could have been a great friendship between two teens and an older man. They man was at a desperate time in his life, the teens took advantage of this. I really think the teens in this were not great kids at all.

My daughter read this with me, it was for a school project. She liked it and found it sort of fun to read about how teens lives who lived not too long ago were so much different than what hers is.
