Yellow Owl Workshop'so Make it Yours by Christine Schmidt

Review:

Yellow Owl Workshop's Make It Yours: Patterns and Inspiration to Stamp, Stencil, and Customize Your Stuff - Christine Schmidt

While I like the designs and crafts focused on in this book. I feel some entries are just the same as others with different fabric or different print. Same basic idea used over and over. Some sections are very simple, like using stamps... and a lot of these selections use stamps.

The directions are easy to follow. The picures are colorful and attractive. It is a pretty hefty book at about 192 pages and the pages themselves are made of a sturdy paper with a pink color making it easy on the eyes (I have found recently that bright white with black lettering really strains my eyes).

For someone who is a beginner at wanting to learn how to create hand stamped pattern printed fabric this may be useful, but I feel there are better selections out there. All in all I see this as possibly being useful to someone, but never would I pay the stamped on the back price of US $22.00/$29.00 CAN. The Kindle version as of now is listed at $15.99, too much.

I wouldn't say I dislike this, but I have a difficult time seeing how to justly the purchase price for the content.

Darkest Promise by Gena Showalter

Review:

The Darkest Promise - Gena Showalter

I loved this. The Lord's of the Underworld is within my top five favorite paranormal romance series. This series definitely has dark undertones. What I like the best is that you could take out all the smutty sex and still have a great story, that cant be said about too many paranormal romance series.

In this we have Cameo kepper of the demon misery and Lazarus. They are a great fit for one another, especially considering her voice does not effect him as it does others. For most the moment they hear her speak they experience an uncontrollable feeling of misery causing some to resort to even suicide. Their story takes them on a journey of vengeance. Along the way they have many hurdles to cross.

I love Showalter's writing. She can really bring a scene to life. Her characters are badass and have some wicked cool powers, but also aread very blemished. I love how I laugh when  reading these. Now I just need to find something to fill my time until the next installment releases.

Review: Blood Tide

Blood Tide Blood Tide by C.J. Matthew
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I love all things paranormal. When I saw this was a book centered around dolphin shifters I was all for this. This is a paranormal romance featuring a dolphin shifter and a human male. This is book is definitely intended for adults. This is really unique. I like the originality, the characters, and the plot. I do feel the execution of it all fell a bit flat.

This is a story of forbidden romance. Sy is a female dolphin shifter making her first shift into human form and joining SBW (Save Blue Water organization) in hopes of locating her BFF who is an SBW agent who has gone missing . SBW is a group of dolphin shifters charged with keeping their breed secret and safe, at all costs. As soon as Sy steps foot on land her journey is chaos. A human male, Noah, comes to her rescue. Noah is an ex military man who has a lot of emotional scarring. Sparks fly between the two of them, but their relationship is not an acceptable union due to dolphins being forbidden to reveal themselves to human, or to have romantic involvement with them.

I really feel that the storyline is interesting, but the way it was executed could have been better. The history of the dolphin shifters should have been explained more in depth. Their were parts of the story that made this feel too fluff. I wish the paranormal elements of this had been stronger. It felt like a romantic suspense with just a bit of paranormal. Parts of this dragged on a bit too long making it difficult to bounce back into the action when those times came. The action scenes were among the best parts of this book.

All in all I think this is a decent beginning to a series. I would read the next book in hopes that the author will add more depth. I liked the authors humor and think that it may be the only reason I would continue.

Fiercell Obsessions

Review:

Fierce Obsessions (The Phoenix Pack Series) - Suzanne Wright

This is a repost because I accidentally deleted the post.

This is about shifters. In this we get a wolf, Tao, and a raven, Riley. Ripley has a past she that isn't sunshine and butterflies. She decided to leave her flock and ended up with the Phoenix pack.Tao is lead enforcer for the pack and has been a pretty major character in most, maybe all of the books so far. Looking at the past, the first book in this series when published, conatained some very erotica, even more so than what this series now contains, then later parts were edited out... lol. For some reason throughout this book I kept on thinking about a certain part in which Tao was involved, a very graphic part.. Anyways, back to this book. I really think this coupling was a good choice.

If you are a fan of this series, you know what to expect. If this is something you are considering then start from the beginning. Expect graphic sex, a bit more erotica than most shifter books, but not quite erotica. Of course you get mating, fun laughs, and zack great group of characters.

Review:

Fierce Obsessions (The Phoenix Pack Series) - Suzanne Wright

I really like this series. I think the author has really progressed in skill as the series advances. I do feel though that these are getting a bit monotonous. Something new needs to happen.
