Review:

Ines' Words - Haidji

This is another great story written by Haidji. I love the way the words she uses strings together so lyrically. This is beautiful. Parts made my heart ache, I truly felt this story with every feeling imaginable. I can think of no other way to describe this than to share an excerpt:

Believe in deeds and not just words.

In acts we see who persons are

In words we see only

who they would like to be.

Believe in those who make you smile

and not in those who just smile at you.

Those will leave you crying alone

after you wiped their tears.

For as they did not see your smile.

They will not see your tears.

But only their own tears

and their own smile.

They smiled at Ines,

and then they killed her.

They ignored her tears.

They did not think about her children.

Driven by conveniences.

In a world where there was no room for love.

Her tears fell and gave rise to Tears Fountain.

Love?

Love fell with her,

touched the ground, took root and was

reborn, as the Tree of Love."

This begins with a brief telling of the tragic love between Ines de Castro and King d Pedro I. The present swirls and intertwines with the past, their story.

Book won in LibraryThing giveaway. I agreed to review in exchange.

Review:

Mr Binks - Nia Ellis, Daniel Nanavati

I think this was originally a play, then a book. I liked the story, but noticed a few punctuation mistakes (periods instead of question marks, missing commas). this is the reason for 2 and 1/2 stars as a rating instead of 3 or possibly 3 and 1/2.

As a play I can see that this would be an entertaining production. Everything down to where a character looks is mapped out in the story. There is also a lot of dialog conveying most of the story. I would love to see this on stage.

This is meant for children. It has mystery, magic, suspense, and more. I could see a teacher using this as an outline and script for a school/class play.

I really enjoyed this graphics. They really add to the story, and help to help relay how a scene should look.

With changes to fix the punctuation mistakes. With added said... asked... exclaimed... the story would be better executed and understood. I would raise my rating if these changes were done. This has a lot of potential, and as I said above, it would make a great play t watch and perform.

Excerpt:

"After yesterday, I daren't suggest a thing. Do you know you know you do the best impersonation of a puppy moping about I've ever seen. I think its the watery eyes and wet nose that do the trick."

"If you were really intelligent you'd be able to think of new insults once in a while. No one invited you into my room."

I received a copy of this book free of charge. I didn't promise a review in return.

So, we got boys... again. Yep. The boys two streets over who are homeschooled found my girls. They stalk my neighborhood. My girls are very developed for their age... both the 14 and 12 year old look at least three years older than they are. I get looks from people when

I tell them the 12 year old still qualifies for kids rates at places that offer reduced rates for kids. Now my girls are being peacocks. They are on the front porch sunning themselves on a cloudy day while wearing their best, and most noncovering clothes. HAHAHAHA... SHIT! I feel old. Too old. I should go cloudy day sun myself too. How pissed would they be if I popped up on the porch in a bikini. I am proud to admit that I look pretty good after having given birth to two kids. The hubby is contemplating cleaning his knife collection and also his crossbow on the screened in porch.

Had a blast!

we went to the drive in movie theater. We saw Finding Dory and Through the Looking Glass. Both good movies, but I fell asleep for the last bit of TTLG. Not the movies fault, just exhaustion. All in all it was fun. Claustrophobia kicked in on the way home and I almost jumped out a moving car, it's a tight fit with eight people in a six seater sedan.

Does anyone else?

The lady at the library looked at me like I was crazy when I had both my county public librsry card number and my State of Ohio Library card number memorized. Does anyone else have theirs memorized? I think I know these numbers because I type them into overdrive very frequently.
